This dish originates from a craving. Koko, then living in New York, was hungry for some Slavic flavors. She had a hankering for the Polish dish fasolka po bretońsku (kielbasa and beans) as well as the Hungarian/Czech/Slovak dish leczo (stewed peppers and tomatoes , sometimes with the addition of bacon). So, deciding to cook from the heart, she created a fusion dish that’s been a favorite of her friends and family for over 20 years. Koko’s Slavic Stew is packed with kielbasa, bacon, peppers, tomatoes and piękny jaś beans. All you need to serve is some crusty bread!
